It's August and for many it's time for vacation or at least to take a dip in the sea or pool.
1. Sea water corrodes gold and silver jewelry making it discolored and opaque. Avoid wearing it in water
2. In the pool there is chlorine which is a very aggressive substance for silver jewelry. Remove it before and after a dive
3. If you swim with a bracelet or necklace be careful it could unsolder and would be difficult to recover at the bottom of the sea
4. BE CAREFUL WHEN DIVING
When diving it is good practice not to wear jewelry because the strong impact with the water could break it or make the stones fall out
5. Reminder: Before jumping into the water take off your wedding ring!
You can't imagine how many are found at the bottom of the sea!
6. Natural pearls are made up of 4% water and prolonged exposure to the sun could dehydrate them, avoid wearing them when sunbathing
7. Be careful with sand! If it comes into contact with jewelry it could scratch it
8. Tanning creams or soaps oxidize silver jewelry, it is better not to be bejeweled while applying these substances.
9. For an even tan it is not advisable to go to the beach wearing jewelry. This will avoid white marks.
10. Coral: Avoid wearing it in the sea, salt water could make it dull.
11. Are you swimming and you realize you have not removed your gold jewelry? Return to shore, rinse it with cold fresh water, keep it. Now you can go swimming again!
12. Precious stones: amethyst, malachite, quartz, and tourmaline can tarnish and become less shiny if worn in the pool or at the sea.
